Coolant Concentrate HD

Coolant Concentrate HD is a concentrated engine antifreeze based on monoethylene glycol.

The additive package it contains is designed according to the latest inhibitor component technology to produce a final antifreeze that is free of amines, phosphate and silicate.

The combination of long-lasting organic additives with carefully selected metal inhibitors makes this technology extremely suitable for application in heavy-duty cast iron engines.

Advantages

When mixed with water in the appropriate ratio, it provides the following benefits:

• Frost protection, depending on the selected concentration.
• Excellent anti-foam characteristics.
• Conforms to most European and international standards, including ASTM D6210.
• Suitable for use in applications requiring CAT EC-1.

Performance

WEG Coolant Concentrate HD is a long-life antifreeze that should be replaced every five years or every 250,000 km for passenger cars or every 1,000,000 km for trucks and commercial vehicles. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) recommendations should be followed when changing cooling systems.

Compatibility

Although it is always recommended to use deionized or soft water to dilute antifreeze, WEG Coolant Concentrated HD is formulated to cope with different water qualities and is compatible with hard water.

It is fully miscible with other coolants and can be safely mixed with them. However, as WEG Coolant Concentrated HD uses a type of inhibitor that is very different from that used in traditional metal coolants, it is recommended to drain and flush cooling systems containing it before refilling with diluted WEG Coolant Concentrated HD. Failure to do so may significantly reduce the performance and longevity of the product.

Recommendations

In order to ensure a satisfactory level of corrosion protection, it is recommended to use at least 33% (1:2) volume of product in the coolant solution. According to most car manufacturers, a 50% (1:1) volume solution is recommended for optimal performance. For cold climates use 67% (2:1) volume, while concentrations above 67% are not recommended as they do not provide any benefit.
